Can Bid Simulator results for current CPC be different from actual results?

I am looking to build a small AdWords product and had this doubt. Can the bid simulator results(impressions/clicks) for the current max CPC bid for a particular keyword be different from the actual results for the same keyword with the same max CPC bid? If yes, why does this difference exist?

Is it that the Simulator results ideal for the particular keyword?

Hi,

There are a number of things that go into the bidding strategy. A main one that people forget about is Quality Score: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/140351?hl=en-GB

The bid simulator is just a projection based on previous results in the search engines. It is not an exact science how many clicks and impressions you will get but it will be somewhere within that region.

Hope this helps

Speaking a bit more specifically, a wide range of data collected by Google in the past 7 days are considered for the bid simulators to show you what could have happened if you had changed the bids by choosing a suggested bid value. The simulators are not intended to be regarded as predictions.
