If I add a call extension with our phone number to our mobile campaign, can I pause the call extension outside of business hours or if I add it is it going to be there round the clock?

Hi M_D_Kelley,

Unfortunately you can't schedule the call extensions yet. It is a feature request that comes up quite regularly. The only option at the moment is to run 2 sepatrate campaigns, one with call extensions running during business hours and another without running after hours.

You can then use ad scheduling to run these campaigns during the right times.

You can easily make a copy of your existing campaign using AdWords Editor and rename it so you know which one is which.

Well, You can pause the campaign everytime your business hour is over and then again once you are back on the next day you need to enable the campaign once again, this is a lenghty procerss. So its better for you to schedule your advertisement at campaign level and then the ad will automatically stop displaying after your working hours (or hours you set).

Remember in this case your entire campaign will be stop working after the stipulated hours.

Thank you

Thank you, makes sense - that was what I thought might be the case but figured was worth asking first.

This ability for scheduling the Call Extension has now been enabled.

Google now recommends that you utilise the Call Extension scheduling as best practice so that the phone number only gets shown when you are able to answer a call and thus provide a better user experience.

Can you explain how to enable call extension scheduling please? I cannot find anything to do with call extensions under scheduling, nor anything about scheduling under extensions!

If you go to Ad Extensions for a campaign and add a call extension, or edit an existing call extension, when you open and click to edit the phone number, under Advanced, it allows you to pick the scheduling.

Got it! Perfect, thanks very much.
Maybe you can also help with another thing?
I am finding conflicting information on Google's help pages as to whether I can use a Spanish phone number with Google Forwarding Numbers:

"Call extensions with Google forwarding phone numbers are only available for US, UK., French and German phone numbers".

(from: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2454052#call_conversions)

But,

"If you've enabled call extensions with a Google forwarding number (available to numbers based in Australia, France, Germany, Spain, the US and the UK), you can get detailed reporting on calls dialled to that number".

(from: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1704420)

So, Spanish numbers OK or not? I am also unclear whether I can use a Google forwarding number on display campaigns, or only on search campaigns?

Thanks for your help

"Call extensions with Google forwarding phone numbers are only available for numbers based in Australia, France, Germany, Spain, the US, and the UK." That was in general Help so would expect that is most updated information. https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2382961?hl=en#2382961

I primarily use search campaigns, not display, so can't help on the other question. Good luck!
