Broad Match Negative Keywords

Hi All,

I am running a recruitment campaign and would like to exclude all consumer traffic. Lately, I have found that I have many entries in the search query report along the lines of "www.brand.com" that I think are driving unqualified, consumer traffic. Will putting "www" as a broad match negative keyword catch all of these terms? I am unsure because I think "www.brand.com" is appearing as one whole term, and I don't know whether you can restrict terms based on setting a portion of the entire string as a negative keyword. Please help!

Thank you.

David

Hello,

Adding just www as a negative will work. The system will ignore dots in keywords and search terms.

"I don't know whether you can restrict terms based on setting a portion of the entire string"

A negative keyword will not restrict terms based on portions of the words.

To see if your negative www has effect, use the Ad Preview tool found in the Tools menu with a search term such as www.brand.com
