Average Position

Hi everyone,

I wonder if someone here could help me regarding Average Position.

I see in the Campaigns tab that a certain campaign has a 1.5 average position over a certain period of time. But when I go to the Auction Insights tab, the average position is actually 2.8 over the same period. Can someone explain me why there's a difference?  Which one is actually the more accurate?

Regards,

Hi @Daniel V,

The data in your account should be the proper measure of your avg pos.  If you look at the top of an Auction Insights report, often it will display that the report is based off a fraction of overall traffic and activity.  Depending on the size of your account and the level of activity, this sampling in the AI report could certainly be the culprit.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Daniel V

Make sure you are checking the Auction Insight for the campaign in question only, not for all the campaigns. The results would be different.

Simply click the checkbox for the campaign you want the data for and then check its auction insight. There shouldn't be a difference.

Thanks

Hi Ratan,

Yes, I was looking at the right campaigns and I still see different average positions.
