Asign Negative audience in search campaigns with adwords editor ?

Hello,

I had an idea "what if I could use the remarketing lists with all my previous visitors and asign them to the search campaigns" and it seems that the adwords editor allows me add a negative campaign audience like a remarketing list in a search network only campaign. I know it can be done for the GDN campaigns but it seemed imposible with the "search network only" campaigns.

After I selected the list I uploaded the change and there was no error message.

Does this mean that the search campaign will benefit from the negative audience made from all my previous visitors and I will pay less for returning paid visitors OR it is just something google didn't think to forbid me to do in the editor ?

Hi

"Is there no solution to stop returning paid visitors from Search campaigns ? I have an overall of 15-30 % of these."

No not yet, but as you say, the cookies are there, I don´t know why Google won´t you use them.
But considering that remarketing for search is in beta, I wouldn´t be surprised if we get this feature in the future.

Also, considering that people do multiple searches and ad clicks before doing a purchase, it might be a good thing to show your ad each time they do a search (of the same reason, re-marketing works so well)

From this page , clearly audiences can be used with search campaigns :

  1. Create a new "Search Network only" campaign, or select an existing search campaign and ad group.
  2. Click the Audiences tab, next to the Keywords tab.

Thank you for answering , I suppose you tested this and it was a possible action in you case too , I mean I am not just dreaming that I asigned a negative audience to a search campaign Smiley Happy  I accept your input but I would feel more reasured If a googler would confirm this or a TC.

However I was hoping that such a feature would be available.

Sorry for giving you such a short reply Adrian.
I haven´t actually found a page where they state it very clear, but here is one that comes close:

Also consider this: under which tab in AdWords du you find audiences?

Especially because of this

"

Audience exclusions are available only for these campaign types:

  • ......
  • "Search & Display Networks - All features"

I think there is no difference between cookies for visitors in search or cookies for visitors in Display, they are all the same and google could allow us to exclude previous visitors even for impressions in search .

Is there no solution to stop returning paid visitors from Search campaigns ? I have an overall of 15-30 % of these.

What is your feedback on this

http://www.google.com/think/products/remarketing-lists-for-search-ads.html

Sophisticated targeting made simple
Getting started with remarketing lists for search ads is easy. First, add theremarketing tag to your website. This site-wide tag, implemented once on your website, makes it easy to segment your site visitors into remarketing lists that you can use for search campaigns in AdWords as well as display campaigns on the Google Display Network.

Hi Adrian

Don´t think that applies to all countries. I can´t see the audiences tab in the account I am looking in right now (haven´t checked them all). Also, it seems to be it only applies to remarketing for search
