Hey advertisers and business managers,
July 4, American independence day, is round the corner. Customers have some additional buying time and purchasing power during this time. So you'd want to make use of this for your business. You'd want to drive additional traffic to your website and increase your sales. For this, what changes would you make to your ad campaigns? What are some must have keywords? What AdWords features can be used to automate these changes? Pleae share your best practices here and look out for some surprise independence day schwag.
Thanks,
Mini

I´d use sitelinks to promote my 4th of july offers with links sayings something like "Visit us on 4th of july" (if I was a hotel), "4th of july reductions" (if I was a retailer), "Stay in bed on 4/7" (if I was Netflix : ), "Need a  4/7 break?" (if I was a fly fishing trip organizer).

And I´d send those clicking the links  to a dedicated 4th of july landingpage - having the stripes and stars as fond.

I definetely agree with that advice. The more specific the better, and try to drive users to July 4 themed landing pages. Try some seasonal Ad Text too. Remember that you can customize your display URL after the domain (example.com/4thJulyOffers). This can drive more seasonal traffic to click on your ads and check out your site.

Hi El (guessing...)

I agree with all that.

When it comes to keywords I would (if I was an amusement park) add keywords such as +things +to +4 + july, or (if I was a restaurant) +celebrate +indpendence, or (if I was a a museum) +american +independence, or (if I was a barber) +barber +chicago +downtown

Relevant ad headings could be (respectively):

Have fun on 4th of july

Celebrate US Independence

Learn more of US history

Get a haircut on 4/7
