Partners Search

I was just checking out the Google Partners search to see what sort of agencies came up for me and had a few comments:

1) I like the look and feel of the search site in general

2) I wish that the search results were a bit more selective: I put in a real-estate related website and the suggested agencies included a few healthcare focused companies.

3) I wish there were some other choices for describing our agency's services and for the "refine your search" categories.  A few that I would suggest are: legal, real estate, home services (home improvement, cleaning, landscaping, etc...)

Hello Eron,

Great suggestions. That would be nice to see more options in refining the partners search.

More to add to the wish list!

I agree. But, then there are some of us who will work in almost any vertical. That's probably why the healthcare was showing up.

Hi Eron,

You are spot on with this thread. I thought the search system was tight, to put it light.

Does anyone know of an easy way to sort by state? I am only showing my agency and one other in Tampa for Florida when I searched a few weeks ago. Could that be all of them?

Thanks,
James

@eroncohen I'd agree with @Shanee_Kirk, personally I wouldn't want the Search to be able to narrow to verticals and don't really understand why they're even a part of the profile.

If you're running an agency that has passed the requirements for Partner, and currently only have hotels as customers, does that really mean you'd be no good at promoting online sales of air conditioners, or plumbing services?  Put another way, why would an agency that only has hotels as clients be any better at marketing a hotel than any other agency?

Personally I think there's a big risk in being a 'specialist', as it seems to me the most likely effect of such specialism would be a tendency to use a template approach.  Got a new hotel client?  Why not just copy/paste the contents of this other clients' Account and change the important data?  That's not how any Account should be approached, each should be analysed and built according to their individual needs and if that's a good way to do things, then there's little benefit in specialism.
