transfer ownership of Google Business account (no email / no owner)

Hi,

I work for an agency that represents a client, and we are trying to gain ownership of the listing he already has that is currently claimed: https://www.google.com/maps/place/BLM+Refrigeration+Heating+and+Air+Conditioning/@41.1608205,-73.234...

I have sent a request and have received a response from the local support team, however they are asking that I Carbon Copy an email recipient (the business owner) who has access to a corporate domain of the business.

This client, and many others of ours, a lot of them do not have corporate domains. It comes to a standstill and nothing is able to get done. Do you know what other methods there could be other than this?

Please help!

Hi @Louis L,

Thanks for writing. I understand that this is a frustrating situation. It is best practice for the business owner themselves to go through the request for ownership process, then give their agency manager access to the listing. The business owner would need to provide permission to transfer ownership, hence the request for someone to email from the corporate domain--this is a privacy issue, as our goal is to only transfer ownership to rightful listing owners. Without this, I am afraid that I am not able to help further.

Another approach you could try would be for the business owner themselves to go through the ownership claim process--they are likely to be more successful than an agency.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to offer further guidance here.

Best,

Liz

So you are saying that if there's a false email that claims a business, there's nothing that can be done to properly reclaim it? Doesn't there have to be some sort of security problem here if a business that has been falsely claimed can't reclaim it's business page?

@Louis L, I'm going through the exact same problem right now with a "corporate domain" as the owner. We have gone through the process of reporting a false admin, asking for admin, everything google has suggested with no prevail.

Hi Melody - as mentioned over here: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Ownership-Conflicts/Do-not-know-the-orginal-email-address/... if you could start a new thread with your details then we can give you some more specialised attention.

If you've been in touch with Google then please do provide the case ID number as well.

Thank you.
