former owner doesn't remember email to approve transfer of ownership

Hello, the previous owner of my business doesn't remember the email address they used to set up the Google my business account. Unfortunately, a competitor of mine has somehow gotten in and edited the photos and website to their business. I need to change this ASAP but the previous owner doesn't remember the email they used. Can you give me any info on this??  You'll see clearly that the website doesn't math the business name.

The problem I am having is that we don't know what the email address is that is attached to this Google business listing. The previous owner checked everything they had. So anything that goes in, sounds like the email address linked to it would get the notice. But we can't check it. It's a vicious circle. How can I at least just found out what email address is attached to it so I can tell them to look at it??

From the page you suggested: "The current listing owner will receive an email asking them to get in touch with you, and you’ll receive a confirmation email."

My concern is that a competitor has someone hacked this listing since they have put their photos and website on the listing. They certainly won't approve the transfer of ownership of that's the case. How can I find out? It's obvious that the photos and website don't belong to my business.

I read this.
But the procedure I linked you is applicable even if the former owner would
be dead or in prison or emigrated to China.

So is there not a way to simply find out what the email address is? I'm very tech inept and can't even get someone to talk to on the phone to help me. do I need to wait the 7days for them to approve it? Or not, in this case, and then can do something? I'm sorry, I'm just confused.
