Hi Friends! I've had my verified business location be in the US Virgin Islands for almost 4 years love what it does for SEO 90% of my bookings come direct from Google. I've also marketed my services in Maine where I go for Summer/Fall season, I have an address there an I'd like to have another verified Google location, but it's the same information. Will I get pinged if I set up another location in Maine?
Scared to lose my first page status on island if I do.

I have recently had issues with multiple wedding photography locations.

The truth is written and unwritten rules are enforced selectively and mostly if you get a complaint from usually your competition.

While I have seen others in my market area break these rules without issues this is what was enforced on me personally.

You must have a different phone number.

I assume they will both be service areas? if so you must make sure your coverage areas do not overlap.

If you run a store front it opens you up to more rules. That I have also learned if you need them.

As far as effecting your search it could lower your numbers if a search is closer to maine it would ping that location instead of the other.

There is also some other guidelines for "seasonal businesses" that may or may not apply depending on how it is interpreted by a Google specialist.

for example

"Seasonal businesses (like an ice-skating rink only open in winter months) are eligible as long as they display permanent signage year-round at the location."

"Rental or for-sale properties, such as vacation homes, model homes or vacant apartments. Sales or leasing offices, however, are eligible for verification."

Ughhh.. it feels so complicated, so many rules. I appreciate your response this is all very helpful! While I'm still 60% in the USVI location I'll maintain that one spot, I get anxiety even thinking about dropping in the ranks.

I feel your pain. Google controls/regulates a huge amount of the market. I would recommend if you have not already trying Wedding Wire or The knot. From the research I have done they are both handled very differently in different areas. My local Wedding wire is horrible for leads and customer service but the SEO is better than even GMB. The knot in my area is less on SEO but the leads and customer service can't be matched.
