Someone has uploaded a number of images that have nothing to do with our business.  They certainly do not belong on our site and should go away.  I am upset I can not do anything but flag these images and can not remove them.

Please fix this.  I wonder the value of having our business on Google if we can not keep it containing OUR business information and photos. Hate to think if some really awful photos were uploaded and we did not notice them since we don't check our Google site all that often.  How can we make it more secure? How fast can these unknown misplaced photos be removed?

Hi @Heidi S - We are mostly volunteers on this forum. A quick question: How long has it been since you flagged the photos?

In regards to the photos "do not belong on our site and should go away" - just a reminder that Google Map/Search is not your site - its Google's.

I appreciate your quick reply.  I looked over the information and saw that it is answered by volunteers and basically understand the nature of Google maps and location information.  I also have used Google since inception, and think the concept very innovative.

I also try to correct mis information for Google when I find map errors.
In this case, I just saw and flagged the photos on our business site just today.  I have asked other co-op members to do the same since I read that as a way to hasten their removal, as suggested by a previous forum reply. Our mis-assigned photos are most likely an address error by a not very exacting "guide".

That said, it is worrisome that potentially business damaging mis-information via comments or photos COULD be posted on a Google site of a business (that does NOT belong to Google). However, a Google listing is most likely perceived to belong TO THE business, so public perception of that business COULD BE very damaging.
In this current environment of intentional mis-truths and mis-information with no liabilities to the perpetrator; it is a very sobering thought.

Since I add and update business information and photos, I thought I had some sort of control, so it is good to know I don't really.  I will remember that if contributing in the future.
Thank you again for the very quick feedback and information. I truly appreciate your volunteer status in helping out these sort of questions and issues.

Cheers,
heidi

Thanks for the response @Heidi S - You still didn't answer how long its been since you flagged the photos.

Since you've been using Google since the inception have you reached out directly to GMB on Twitter or Facebook , usually takes 1-5 business days, or even request to talk to a specialist?

Actually I did answer how long in my msg.

"I just saw and flagged the photos on our business site just today."

(Jan, 17, 2018)

I love to use Google maps! (I do not use Twitter or Facebook, so no reaching out to GMB.) This is the first issue where I have needed to work out a resolution to a small problem. I really am a Google fan and appreciate the opportunity to show our business.  I was amazed and impressed at the incredibly fast feedback as well!  cheers!

My apologizes @Heidi S for not catching the actual written date. From what I've seen it takes a few days (up to a week or two) for Google to evaluate flagged images. Sooner for those that are quite obvious.

It might help to link some of those images since it seems your listing has quite a few (great job btw on that).

While you may not use Twitter or Facebook you can still request to talk to a specialist.

Oh yea!  I checked our listing and the photos that were accidently uploaded to our listing for another location have been removed.   THANK YOU to all who made this possible.  It really avoids visitor confusion, and we all thank you for resolving this so quickly!!  cheers and thanks to all, heidi
