Hello,

I received an email today stating we are no longer an owner of THE RK GROUP corporate and event page and our access has changed. No one from our business has changed these details, therefore someone has hacked this information. Can you please look into this for us and get this changed back to our details ASAP.

Kind Regards,

Nicole Fulco

Hi @Nicole R

It's unlikely that someone hacked your information, more likely they applied for ownership. If you don't respond to the ownership transfer request (sent via email), often Google grants that access.

The system works well for businesses who lose their login details, not so well for businesses who aren't monitoring their email frequently.

Log back in to the account that used to own the listing. Go through the ownership transfer request process here: https://support.google.com/business/answer/4566671.  The current owner will receive an email explaining your request for ownership, and they have the opportunity to reply to you.

If you don't have any luck going through the process, tag me in this post in a couple of weeks. You'll need to allow at least 7 days, sometimes a bit more, and you will need to follow the instructions as laid out on the page. Google won't let me help someone that hasn't attempted to go through the process.

Once you get control of your listing, take the time to assign an email from the same domain as the website (for example info@therkgroup.com.au). That helps reduce listing hijacking, and helps get listings back far more quickly.

It does seem odd that someone would take control of your listing, and yet not change any info on the listing. If you get a call from someone saying you have to pay to get your listing back, then get as much detail about them as you can and report them here:  https://support.google.com/business/contact/gmb_3p_complaints
