We have been trying to verify Aurora Beauty Salon for some time, but with no success. If I click on the email from Google, we see the message:

Ownership request for Aurora Beauty Salon
We sent your request for ownership to the current owner on Friday, June 16, 2017.
Please wait for a response from them.

 

but that is three weeks ago, with no response. The maps listing is www.google.com/maps/place/Aurora+Beauty+Salon/@32.2110066,-80.7021692,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x9367...

The website is aurorabeautysalonhhi.com/ and the phone number is (843) 689-5600.

Hi Simon, 

As it says in Google's instructions for cases like yours, you should request ownership (as you've already done?) but there should have been further instructions in the confirmation email you received. Something along the lines of 'wait 7 days, then if you don't hear back, reply to this email for help claiming the listing'. It gets complicated if the person who owns the listing doesn't want to hand it over, but if you haven't heard anything, you should have no trouble getting it verified. Just go find that confirmation email, and follow the instructions. Or, you can contact Google through the following:

Thanks, James. Weirdly, the email no longer has any further instructions. It says "

Thank you for requesting ownership of Aurora Beauty Salon on Google My Business.

Your request has been passed to the current owner of this listing. You can expect a response from them soon.

and then there is a link which says "View Request. " - and that is it. If you click the link it just says "Ownership request for Aurora Beauty Salon
We sent your request for ownership to the current owner on Friday, June 16, 2017.
Please wait for a response from them.
While you're waiting for a response from the current owner, you can suggest an edit to the listing. The edit may be reviewed faster."

There are no further instructions. I will try one of the links you provided though, thanks.

Sorry about that Simon, it's been a while since I've done that for a client myself, they must have changed the email a while back. Just contact Google support (you'll have the best luck through Facebook or Twitter) and they'll walk you through the next step. Thanks for letting me know, that'll help me advise anyone else with the same problem a little better.
