Dear sir or madams,
i would like to report that somebody else is using a very similar name of
my business on Google Business.
The name of his website/blog is bukitlawang-wildlife (Bukit Lawang-Jungle
Trekking Adventures) and he verified a google business with the name Bukit
Lawang - Jungle Trekking.
His name is M Adi Lukman and his email is adi.look25@gmail.com
I am in contact with him, asking him to change the name of his google
business from Bukit Lawang - Jungle Trekking into Bukit Lawang - Jungle
Trekking Adventures ( following his blog and heading line).
He told me that he tried allready several times. Now he told me his account
is blogged and he dont have access anymore to his google business.
He is willed now to change his name. You can contact him anytime and ask him
about it.
Tel:+6282161735162
Its very confusing for customers if there are two sites appearing in google
maps after googliing the keywords.
Thanks a lot for your help
Kindly regards
Janine Oworu

Hi Janine

I just had a quick look and their business page is not verified.

They will either need to claim and verify or contact business support with their issue

Hello Tim,
thank you very much for your answer.
I was thinking that this page must has been verified as it is appearing on google maps when i use my keywords.?
maybe this link helps to understand:
https://www.google.co.id/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=bukit%20lawang%20jung...
i just dont want that the other page keeps appearing as it is really similar to our name and confusing for our customers.

will wait your asnwer once again

Best regards
Janine

Hi @Janine O

It is not a verified business page, so they can claim it and change the name if they want to.

However that is the name of their business also according to their website, the choice is theirs to change it or not.

Hi tim,
thanks again for resonding.
So a busines age dont have to be verified to aear on google mas.
And also the name Bukit Lawang Jungle Trekking is not the name of their website....the website/blog name is
http://bukitlawang-wildlife.blogspot.co.id/

i needed to verify my page before it appeared on google maps???

so its for me its a bit irritating that they choose exactly the name/words of our website www.bukitlawangjungletrekking.com on google maps/busines page

its a disadvantage for us in competition if there are two pages appearing on google maps with this name and our customers might get to the wrong one....i hope you understand what i mean

anyway the owner of that other page told me he is willed to change it but dont have access to it anymore...what can i do?

thank you very much in advance again for your help

Hi @Janine O

1) people can also add businesses via Map Maker but these will not be verified.

2) The website domain does not mean its the name of the business. The name of the business is typically found on the website and how the business is mentioned and referenced online.

I understand the frustration, but nothing has been done wrong.

on the page in Google Maps you can use "suggest and edit"
