My business has 2 listings and I would like to merge them or depublish one.

My business has two listings on Google Business. Same address, same phone number. Etc.

It has come about due to an outside party creating a google my business page that has the same details as my page but the website address was directed to their homepage. I have since changed their details to mimic mine. However, it has now taken a ranking priority over my google plus page. I have 29 good reviews on my page and there is 3 on the new one, so I would like to either delete the new one or merge the two. Whatever will help me get back to my previous google my business page ranking.

I have previously spoken to 2 Google reps, who seem to be low-level employees in a call centre. They have said that I can merge the two pages if I claim verification of the new page as well. So I have done this and am waiting for the letter to arrive in the mail to verify I'm the owner. From there I was told that the best option would be to merge. I jsut need to make all details identical.

My question is: Should I merge the undesired page and my long term published page or attempt to delete the unwanted page?  Is there a chance that one option will get me back to square one more likely than the other in regards to ranking posiiton? Currently, only the new undesired page with very few reviews is showing up on a google search. The real google my business page seems to have been pushed right down in terms of SEO.

Advice on this matter would be much appreciated!

This is the google my business page I have had for years and need to keep (this is verifed and owned by me):

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Advanced+Health+Chiropractic+Preston/@-37.7482877,145.0020462,17z/...

Here's the google my business page listing I would like deleted or merged (this is unverified, although, I have requested the verification letter due to advice from a google rep) :

https://www.google.com/maps/place/Advanced+Health/@-37.748277,144.9998563,16z/data=!4m8!1m2!2m1!1sAd...

Kind Regards,

Andrew

you are in a good situation and can be lucku having verified your listing (the firts URL shows it)

the other one is a an unverified listing and can get deleted.

Unfortunately I can't help oyu ans there is no MapMaker fir Aussi-country.

But you shoulds contact Support asking them to delete the unverified one.

Identify to support the duplicate as http://maps.google.com.au/?cid=7438101095814292268

I recommend getting in touch with GMB support via one of these options and ask for help in getting verified:

Talk to a specialist

Thanks Helmut. I followed your advice and contacted a specialist. Specifically asked for them to remove the duplicate page. They talked me through how to delete it myself. Having done that 4 days ago the page that was deleted still appears:

https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Advanced+Health/@-37.7482837,145.0018418,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!...

Any further advice on how to get one of them to completely get rid of it?

Cheers,

Andrew
