Google My Business Ownership Conflict

Our GMB Page has been claimed by someone outside our organization who we do not know.  I requested to be a Manager on the page so I could update our contact information.  I would like the current owner to transfer ownership to me, but I cannot find any steps for how to request.  I went through the steps on https://support.google.com/business/answer/4566671?hl=en and the current Owner obliged and added me as a Manager on the page, but these same steps do not apply to request ownership of the page now that I am a manager.  Please advise how I go about this.

Hmmm

But I understood:
The actual owner made you an Admin - right?
You then should be able to get his profile listed via your dashboard and the page in question
=> settings => tab managers => clicking the owner

No option then to sent him any message?

Otherwise the last option could be using just Someone else verified my business

There are steps described to get the ownership transferred if not being able to contact the actual owner

I was only made a manager of the account, when i go to the managers tab it shows the 2 of us, HT Access (Owner) and me (Manager), so i do not see any options for contacting the owner.

It's a pitty then

on the one page I'm a admin only I can click the avatar of the owner -
getting his G+ Profile opened.
And there I find contact options.
But if this doesn't help the only remaining option is requesting the
ownership released via the link I already posted: "someone else claimed my
business on google"

Turns out that I have to remove myself as a manager from the page and once I am no longer a manager, I can request ownership transfer. We will see how this goes.

That's weird indeed.

We have an applicable speech in Germany for your doing "am Ast sägen, auf dem man sitzt" ("Sawing the branch, you're sitting on")

I sought Google's help 2 days ago for this same problem where the original owner is no longer reachable. Google said that ownership transfer REQUIRES that you become a manager first by requesting Admin Rights from Google. Google attempts to contact the original owner with only 7 days to respond. If no response, Google will automatically transfer ownership to you. Do with to try to find out which version s accurate?

I followed the steps as I described above. When I went through those steps, it allowed me, already as a manager, to request Admin Rights, although I had not found that option previously. So yes, as you described it seems to be correct. I am waiting for a few more days to see if the transfer occurs.
