Google Local Listing Concern

1. Full business name - Sydney Hi Fi Mona Vale
2. Current business address - 1/1 Mona Vale Rd Mona Vale NSW 2103
3. Current telephone number
4. Google+ URL- https://plus.google.com/b/103981866281657927993/103981866281657927993/about?gmbpt=true&pageId=103981...

Hi,

We would just like to seek assistance on a Google Local Listing account we manage. Whenever we try to search the company the result comes up with this - http://prntscr.com/9rhm7w
The Local listing seen on that search result is incorrect and was never verified. The correct one is - http://prntscr.com/9rhmif

We also saw another old account that are also seen when we try to search for the shop which again was never verified.- http://prntscr.com/9rhefw

The correct one was verified - http://prntscr.com/9rhn9i and we wish to make it as the default Local Listing whenever people search for the name of the shop.

However we are not sure if what is the cause and what would be the next action for this. If we delete all those other extra accounts would it resolve the issue and just retain the correct one? We are uncertain why it shows like this because from what we understand only those that were verified should come up.

Please help, we don't know what to do next.

Thank you

@Glady M

The unwanted  result with your screen capture is based on

https://plus.google.com/103094207437100282879/about

and any search query like "Sydney Hi Fi Mona Vale" gets interpreted as a search for "Sydney Hi Fi " in "Mona Vale"

Try instead searching with www.google.com.au  for "Sydney Hi Fi Mona Vale" near Mona Vale

and you will get yours at the top  and the other one below:

An additional  important remark:

Google doesn't like business pages named with a city name.or address as part of the naming.

Hi @Glady M

Can I just some things confirmed please before providing (hopefully) some answers:

1. The business in this screenshot: http://prntscr.com/9rhm7w no longer operates from the address shown in the screenshot, is that correct?

2. Similarly, the business in this screenshot: http://prntscr.com/9rhefw no longer operates from the address shown in the screenshot, is that correct?

Thank you.

Hi PriyaC,

Yes you are correct. Those are non operational anymore since the business was renamed and moved out to a new address which is the one verified. We are not sure if what to do next because we want those 2 inactive local listing to not appear anymore and just maintaining the one that was verified on the search results. Or would it be better to just take the page down? Would that resolve it?

Regards,

Glady

Hi @Glady M thanks for that additional information.

You will need to mark both those business as closed - select the Feedback link under the result and you'll be able to mark them as closed.

They will continue to show up for a while but as you build your online citations for the new business they should show up less and less.

Also, as @Helmut Geissler pointed out, your current listing doesn't meet Google's naming guidelines and will need to be amended.

Hope this helps.

Thanks @PriyaC and @Helmut Geissler

That made sense. We'll do what you both suggested.
