Google+ Confusion with Multiple Pages

I started doing social media for an organization last fall, National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), out of Staples, MN. When I came on I did an audit of the social media accounts and I thought I got everything cleaned up (multiple Google accounts). But recently we've been working on increasing SEO with our web developer and they told me we have multiple Google+ pages. When I've researched it seems that may be the case.....but is there a difference with an identity page and a Google business page? Can someone please assist me?

Here is what I've found for us....

https://plus.google.com/+njpacoop

https://plus.google.com/+NjpacoopOrg

And who knows if I'm missing any others! We only have one location and so my desire is to just have one Google+ page. If we do have two separate ones, can I merge them, or do I have to delete one?

Thank you for your help and expertise!

Hi NJPA

Neither of the two links that you've provided will show up outside of Google+ in a general search. If you have control over the pages / profiles you can delete them but otherwise there's no impact on your local SEO by having those two pages / profiles active.

is this the Google+ Local page that you are currently working with? https://plus.google.com/108501633024624849337/about

Hello,

We have not used that page at all to do updates. Why won't either of those
pages show up externally? That is where we are doing our posts for our
social media activity. What page should we be doing this on so people can
see them?

Hi NJPA

The only Google+ type pages that appear in an external search (outside of Google+) are Google Local pages. This is your Google Local page: https://plus.google.com/108501633024624849337/about

However posts that are made on a Google Local page won't show up outside of Google+. The only information that will show up outside of Google+ is:
Reviews
Location
Opening hours
Photos
Phone number
Website

Since the 'conscious uncoupling' of Google+ and Google Local, there is little point in providing social updates on your Google Local page, unless you already have a strong following within Google+ itself. External customers (those who do not use Google+) will most likely never see those posts.
