GMB Requesting Access Issue

Hi,

 

I work for a digital marketing agency and I'm trying to help my client claim an existing verified listing. They think it was set up years ago with another SEO agency that they no longer have access to. They have tried to create another GMB listing for the same location which is now obviously showing as a Duplicate.

This is the existing GMB we are trying to claim ownership of:

I have tried to Request Access both under our Profile and the client - no form appears for us to input our contact details and no confirmation email has been received?

It has been less than 7 days but I don't think our request has gone through. What am I doing wrong? I've been scrolling through forums and support pages with no luck. Some of the posts are out of date as when I follow there suggested link the current GMB page is different to their screen shop from 2016 for example.

Can anyone help? I'm open to ideas.

I hope this issue comes to an end soon, as I am actually experiencing the same issue with over 40 accounts that we currently manage. I was curious to know, how many accounts overall is this affecting for you?

Just the one account impacted for me, thankfully.
I'm hoping someone in this community to help us solve it - There must be a way to fix this.

For anyone having similar issues I found this link which was very helpful.

I could actually speak to a Google My Business Specialists who has helped me:
1. Send of the REQUEST ACCESS to the previous owner as it wasn't enabling me to do it.
2. After 7 days and no reply she is now taking the next steps to transfer it for me.


Not resolved yet but I think we're close.
