Former Employee Refusing to Transfer Ownership

Hello,

 

An ex-employee of ours, who was managing all the web activity for us, opened a new business close to where we are located and he is claiming our Google business listing under his new business.  He changed all the business details on the listing page to his new business, so whenever someone tries to search for us, Google returns the wrong details. I believe this is inaccurate reflection of our business (we do not have any other branch or business), deceitful (customers are led to believe the reviews belong to the ex-employee's new business) and illegal (someone is claiming to be us, but in a different place).

 

As per the information provided in the Help section, I followed all the procedures and filled out all the form to transfer the ownership of the account however the person is refusing to transfer the ownership.  In addition, the representative from the Google My Business team whom I spoke with just now responded by saying that the only way to resolve this issue is to report the business as 'closed or doesn't exist' (which would result in loss of our Reviews). I have explained that we do not want to lose the reviews and we are only requesting Google to re-verify the business to return the ownership of the account.  We are willing to share any legal documents requested to prove the ownership of the business.

Website: www.konakleicester.co.uk (new)

 

Going through this forum I can see that many other businesses have faced or are facing a similar issue. I did not find the information provided in the Help section or the information given to me by the Google Business Team helpful.  The response times are very long which is extremely frustrating.  There should be a better process in place to recover the business accounts from ex-employees or people who are abusing this service.

 

Last but not least, please note that we are losing significant amount of potential business from the google search results and we feel this issue should be resolved as quickly as possible.

I suppose you followed the procedure "Someone else verified my business" - and over there the path "Can't contact the current listing owner" - did you?

 

If yes oyu should received a mail from support with a case ID 

 

can you share it here?

Thanks for the quick response.

 

Yes that is the process I followed.  I have received three emails from Google My Business Team and none of them has any Case reference ID I am afraid.

 

The emails were sent to me from "local-help@google.com" by 'Anna' (on Tue 11/10/2016 16:53) and 'Deependra' (Wed 12/10/2016 06:06 and Mon 17/10/2016 05:05 GMT).

 

I requested a phone call this afternoon and spoke with someone called 'Ram' who did not ask or give me any case reference ID.

I have news (unfortunately  kind of bad news - however some good news too - see below)

 

Google changed in the last ten days the escalation pathes we TC can use.

And me earlier times posted escalation unfortunately went down in a black whole.

Means I have to start a new escalation now.

The good news:

my new escalation will go directly to people dealing with cases like yours.

Sorry for the inconvenience but I hope it goes better now.
