Current owner won't transfer ownership to rightful business owner.

I work at the business above and have recently tried to get the ownership of our business listing. Someone has previously claimed ownership and despite numerous requests, won't relinquish it to me. In the meantime they keep changing our business to appear permanently closed, affecting our business.

 

I have provided Google with all legal documentation to prove ownership of the business and still can not get the listing transferred over. What can I do?

have you applied the procedure "Someone else verified my business" already and if so what did support tell you then?

If so:

Did you got any message from support the actual page owner is refusing to release the listing in question?

If  so:

can you provide the case ID from local-help please to here?

Hi Helmut,

Yes, I have gone through the 'someone else verified my business steps' twice. I've received notification from Google that the current owner of the listing will not transfer ownership to us. I haven't got a case ID?

Hi Lori,

It's frustrating isn't it? I've been following your thread but my case differs slightly because our listing owner hasn't asked for money, so it seems personal.

It appears to me from previous threads that asking for help in this format is the only way to get our listings back.

the case ID should be notified in the subject of the mail you gotten from
"local-help"

I haven't got an ID number in any of the 10 emails received from local-help. Does this mean I have done something wrong?

Hi treebles,

It isn't but that is OK. I think I might have just this minute resolved our issue. I managed to get Google to give me a call and they released the ownership from the other party. Changes apparently can take up to 48 hours but I'm hoping to have control of our listing very soon!

I hope so Mercedes. My fingers are crossed for you. They still haven't released my listing as yet. But I did get a response yesterday after I sent some documentation, saying that they will investigate further and get back to me in a few days.
