Current owner won't transfer ownership to rightful business owner.

I am a physician who is trying to take ownership of my name/business. My previous employment listed my name and information and I am no longer with that hospital. I have already tried to submit a claim to ownership of my name and it has been over 7 days. I have also tried to edit the information (more than 2 weeks ago), but because the email that was used was not mine (it was the hospital's), it was denied, multiple times. This is my name and my business and I would like ownership of it. I have not been contacted at any point during this time.

@Michelle D

I'm not sure how to help you here best.

The problem I see is that even in case I get Google to take a look on this ownership matter they will likely do not more as just release the listing from the actual ownership giving you the option to claim it.(maybe I'm mistaken though)

But in case I'm not mistaken it won't work as you can't claim and verify it at the old address.

What is your new address and what other details (phone and website) needs to be changed

@Helmut, I've spoken on the phone multiple times with Google, and even a
supervisor. They've escalated it to contacting the "owner" of my name, who
refuses to transfer ownership. They said they cannot do anything else which
is particularly disturbing considering the fact that it is my name, and
whoever at the large hospital I used to work for claimed my name, which is
fraudulent. Not only is it now misleading to my patients who are trying to
look for me and are coming up with my former employment location, but the
fact that I cannot take ownership of my own name is identity theft. I've
explained this to Google, and they said they cannot do anything about it.
I've offered to provide copies of my medical license proving I am who I am,
but they said since someone at that hospital has already claimed ownership
of my "business" there is nothing that they can do unless they relinquish
ownership. I've explained that it is not a "business" per se, but it is my
name. Surely this is not the first time this has happened, and Google
should have some checks and balances in place so that the person whose
rightful identity it is should be able to claim ownership of their own
name. And for the record, I did attempt to call that hospital and when
you're dealing with a company of 60,0000 employees or more, it's a needle
in a haystack to find the correct person. I emailed HR, called multiple
offices there, and was lead to a dead end, so Google's suggestion of me
finding out who it was ended up being fruitless, and I did attempt to
explain to them. I ended up having to contact my attorney to handle this,
as clearly Google cannot do the right thing.

Hi @Michelle D

actually your old listing is marked as Permanently closed.

This means nobody will find it unless searching for name and old address.

You should now start to set up for your new address a listing at first (in case you haven't done it already)

Once the new listing is verified and active come back to here for more advice how to further deal with the closed listing at the old address.

@Helmut

Yes, I was able to finally get the old practice to mark the listing as
closed, although they would not transfer ownership.

I set up a new Google listing under my new address already and it looks
like it is active. How do I remove the listing that is marked as closed?

as far as I know you can't @Michelle D

But why should you???

nobody will find it unless searchin for it at the old address adn if then they will see this location closed.

Howevver tell you what you should do:

Contact business support and request from them to redirct any search results still going to the old location to the new loction.

I know from other threads business support is technically able to achieve this.
