I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do and what exactly having done regarding both of your business pages (local and brand pape).

I refer to "So I want change link from locations page to brand page" as this in't the goal of the HC article https://support.google.com/business/answer/6010825?hl=en.

According this  HC article "Connect a page to Google Maps"  you just connect the brand  page  to the local page so  appears for the public as one page.

Applying the HC article "Connect a page to Google Maps" requires that you are the owner (not only the admin) of both pages and managing them in the same dashboard.

Is this condition fulfilled?

I am having exact same problem as PVPower NT2.

Have a Location page and want to connect to a different page; the brand page. Have ownership of both and they are both in the same dashboard.

Also get the error message "There was a problem completing this action. Please try again".

So, day 3 and 3rd try same error :-)

It seems to me that perhaps transferring a Google Maps connection from a Location page to a Brand page is a problem??

Most everything I read here is about connection between different Location pages.

I had already opened a question and got an answer that this could be done - transferring between a Location and Brand page - but maybe not??

Hi back, PVPower NT2

Nope, still have the error.

I am going to call Google My Business Support.

(Don't know where you are located, but I'm in the USA and always get quickly through to help on the phone. If you look at the bottom of your Google My Business dashboard, you'll see the Help link. Click on that and at bottom of popup, click "Email". You'll then actually get an option for a phone call. I've got immediate callbacks from them and they are very good.)

I'll probably call on Monday. If I get a resolution on it from them, I will post the fix here for you!

Thanks!

Hi David -

After several calls with GoogleMyBusiness support, I finally spoke to someone who investigated thoroughly rather than pointing me to instruction pages. He confirmed the issue/error is a known bug. I was asked to send some time-stamped screenshots that were to be forwarded to the engineers at Google, and haven't heard anything back. I don't expect to, either.

I was hoping since the error message is a known bug that the GoogleMyBusiness support people could manually merge the pages; it's a database after all, but no, they couldn't.

So, we had to bite the bullet and delete the Brand page and lose the 2 years of posts there.

BACKGROUND: In my client's case, they erroneously set up a Brand page which they had been building out. They also had an auto-generated Local page that they hadn't done anything with and wanted to detach GoogleMaps location from the Local page and transfer it to the Brand page. The support peeps at GoogleMyBusiness confirmed that this would result in the Brand page becoming the Local page. We would then be able to retain the many posts on the Brand-now-Local page, now with a verified street address.. But, alas, no joy.

Currently, https://support.google.com/business/answer/6010825?hl=en page changed and does not contain any detailed steps/descriptions about current problem:

Hope it will be updated soon with new (working) steps.

Trying to find info on this as well, the linked article seems to have been changed like Dmitry points out. I have an existing Brand page which has all our Posts, but like everyone else, the Local MB page is completely empty and I need to have them switched or merged.

I'm looking to do the same thing, did you happen to figure out how it's done?
