Anna Notice - Try to Respond and Refuse but

So we got the dreaded "Anna" message letting us know that someone was trying to hijack our Google My Business listing and if we did not respond within 7 days they would give to some stranger. Go Figure, good policy Google. So we respond NO, and give our reasons - the Google Listing is OURS and we DON'T want ANYONE messing with it. But when we send it we get a nice bounce message attached below.

Clovis Stone - Rick Davis owner

Do not get permission from anyone other than the owner regarding this listing

HERE IS THE ORIGINAL "ANNA" MESSAGE THAT WE CAN'T RESPOND TO:

From: local-help@google.com

Subject: [Time sensitive] Ownership of your local business page on Google: Clovis Stone Masonry & Landscape Supply

Date: October 25, 2016 at 5:50:34 PM EDT

To: marketing@clovismasonrylandscape.com

Hi,

My name is Anna from the Google My Business Support team. I’m writing to let you know that another user has just requested ownership rights to your Clovis Stone Masonry & Landscape Supply local page on Google.

You are currently the verified owner of Clovis Stone Masonry & Landscape Supply on Google at https://maps.google.com?cid=-5303906325330760953. Since each local business on Google can only have one verified owner, we need a decision from you about the ownership of the page within 7 days* of receiving this email.

The user thehog@thesocialhog.com requesting ownership has asked us to pass the following message to you:

"The owner has hired my agency to manage your google and yelp pages. Please add me as a manager so I can start getting work on your account done!"

Next steps:

1. If you agree to share management or transfer ownership of this local page with thehog@thesocialhog.com:

  • Entirely transfer page ownership: follow the instructions here.
  • Add this person as a manager: follow the instructions here.
  • Contact thehog@thesocialhog.com directly if you wish to further discuss this access request with them.

If you’re unsure about the difference between owners, managers, and communication managers on Google My Business, read this article for help.

2. If you do NOT wish to grant access to this local page, simply reply back to this email within 7 days to confirm your refusal (and why you came to that decision).

*Important: If we do not hear from you within 7 days, this page may be unverified. This means the business information you provide for this page will no longer be eligible to appear on Google.

You can respond directly to this email at any time if you wish to discuss this request with a Google support specialist.

Your quick action is much appreciated!

Best regards,

Anna

Hi there,

Thanks for reporting this issue in the community. When Colan escalated I did a bit of digging and got a few folks to investigate. They found that because you edited the subject of the emails to include "NO DO NOT" and "NO", our system didn't know how to handle the request or where to send it.

Thankfully we also noticed that one of the requests didn't have an edited subject line and therefore Palei was able to receive and respond.

Thanks for your patience and report!

Best,

Marissa
