Launch Roundup: January - April 2016
Latitude and Longitude for Users With 10+ Locations
Did you know that chains can now provide latitude and longitude for new locations? If Google is unable to recognize any of the addresses you provide, we’ll now use lat/long rather than requiring you to place a map marker. Read more about the process here.
Download Locations: Bulk Management
When you log into your GMB page, you have the option to download your listings. Sometimes, we may ask you to review listings before they are enabled for download. Bulk users can review a list of such locations. Read more about this feature here.
Did you know that you are able to add special hours up to a year in advance for any time that your regular business hours may differ, like holidays? There will be messaging shown above your hours if a local holiday falls on that particular day (even if you have regular hours that day).
We recommend checking the list to see what holidays are observed in your location--you have the opportunity to check and confirm your hours for each day that may have holiday hours. This edit feature is now available across Android, iOS, and web platforms. Read more about special hours here.
Permanently Closed Locations
When businesses are marked as permanently closed, there is an option to “reopen” them. On a desktop site, this option will show up as applicable in the red banner, or in the footer of the single listing view. Businesses can also be re-opened or closed at any time from the footer of the desktop editor. On mobile, the option will show as a pencil next to the red text. Find out more about how to mark businesses as closed or moved here.
