Incorrect Channel attribution in case of app deep linking - reposting in GA section

Scenario brief -

If a user clicks a google search result on his phone browser & an existing app's deep link is triggered, he can select the app or choose to continue in browser. On selecting browser, GA is messing up the channel - it should be organic but I can see the click is attributed to direct.

Question -

Is there a way to retain the channel in this specific scenario?

Hi Anuj,

Since this is now a duplicate post, and best suited for the Google Analytics board, I'm going to close this thread.

Thanks,
