Online reviews are the new word-of-mouth recommendation. Make sure your small business is online where back-to-school shoppers can find you.

Always grateful for the customers time and consideration in doing the review. Plus keep it positive in reply and make sure to note that action will be taken to improve where requests are made.

Great points, @Justine O! It definitely makes a good impression to show a customer that you care not only about resolving their specific issue, but that you also care about making sure it doesn't happen again.

Responding to every business review that you get is important because it lets people know that you're a grateful for the good ones and willing to fix the cause of the bad ones. If a lengthy response is required you can ask the reviewer to contact you for that purpose outside of the reviews.
