Hi All, I am desperately trying to get my business listed in the Google places section which is the section of business that pops up at the top of the google page before the web results.

I have tried everything but I must be missing something.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Jamie Smiley Happy

Hi, @Jamie C,

What is your business?

And, I know you said you tried everything, but what exactly is going wrong when you try to create the Google+ business page on Google My Business (http://google.com/business)?

Thanks,

Ray Sidney-Smith

Hi ray thanks for your response
My business is called 'JC vehicle logistics'
I have created a google plus page and everything is filled in.
However when I search on google 'car recovery coventry' my business does not appear in Google places along with the other vehicle transportation firms. If you could have a look and help me in anyway that would be fantastic.

Thanks
Jamie

Please contact business support during office hours :

Just because you have a Business page does not mean you are automatically positioned. Google needs to understand your business before they can position you.

Let me show you.

A search for towing service ( your category ) coventry, does not list you business page

However if I zoom in to give me more localised results, you now appear

So, this tells me that Google knows you are there, just not enough about you to position you.

1) Move PIN marker to correct location, currently in middle of road next to a pub.

2) I believe you should be marked as a serviced area busienss, if you agree, then you should click, I serve my customers at their location. Set your location distance, no more then 40 miles radius.

3) Your website needs a lot of work

4) Build up your business citations

You could do more to optimize your listing to show up in search results and I think this can also help you with the position you occupy in the "3 pack" of business listing results although there are some factors which you have no control over such as the physical location of a searcher in relation to your business. The Google SEO Starter Guide makes a good read and gives you some excellent pointers on how to optimize for Google search.
