Happy Sunday Y'all.

I updated the study guides for the most recent Specialist Challenge. I suggest making your own outline and sharing. You can can access my AdWords Video study guide here:

http://guttulus.com/2016-video-ads-certification-guide/

I have a study guide for each of the test (and will be posting them in the corresponding topics). Please let me know if you have further questions.

Good Luck!

Tony

I am preparing for the Video Advertising exam and need some assistance. I am trying to find specific definitions that identify the differences between Interests, Affinity Audiences, and Customer Affinity Audiences. According to the PDF download, they seem to all be very similar. I haven't been able to find information regarding the nuances between the different targeting methods. Any suggestions on where to find this information would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Andrea

Hi @Andrea V,

So happy to hear you are digging in and tackling the challenge.

While the three are similar, there are distinct differences with the three.

Interests. This type of targeting lets you interact with people who show a common interest in something online. They are interested in something directly or related.

Affinity Audiences. This type of targeting lets you target someone bases on their interests and behavior, even though they might not have shown a direct interest. They are considered a likely target (but have not shown an exact interest in it), so there is a resemblance that they would like it. This targeting was originally created to extend the audience of TV ads, online.

Custom Affinity Audiences. This type of targeting is a more refined or custom-tailored version of Affinity Audiences, where we, the advertiser, gets to create our own mix to best fit our products or services offered.

You can learn more with this link: Targeting your ads by Audience.

Please let us know if we can discuss this further.

Kind Regards,

James

I'm getting ready to take my video exam, which is my last one as it is, challenge just being a bonus Smiley Happy

I found that on the mobile exam, there were quite a lot of video related questions, with answers in the video study guide.

Would it be worth it for me then to refresh on my notes for mobile, in case there are a lot of mobile specific questions?

Thank you both for your suggestions! I just finished and made it just over the line with an 82. Wow! That one was definitely the hardest one yet! Wheh!

Now to breathe and prepare for mobile next.

Thanks again,
Andrea
