the attribute used to submit the url is

image_link

the image_link should be a url value that is
pointing to a static image of the product --
typically, the url is a (jpeg or png) image
file on the website's link landing-page.

the image (file) should be about 300x300 pixels or so
of the product itself -- without any watermarks, text,
or excessive white-space.

logos or placeholder images are also not allowed.

much smaller images also violate the policies; much larger images may
be too big for the website to keep pace with all google's crawl requests.

both googlebot and googlebot-image must be able to
crawl the website where the images are stored and all
submitted image ( url's) must be in a supported format.

there are additional policies for both apparel items and product variants.

one, single, valid, image_link url must be submitted per item.

importantly, google may take 24-72 hours or so to crawl and cache new images.

generally, check the feed-status-summary report for any feed issues;

check the website's log files for googlebot and googlebot-image crawls;

check individual items by clicking on the titles within the products-tab;

check the dashboard's quality section and data-quality-tab for any image

related issues -- about 24-72 hours or so after the data (feed) has been

successfully processed.

items without proper product images simply cannot be submitted --
or is otherwise grounds for disapproval or suspension, at any time.
