must all domains match
250,000 images have a vastly different domain URL than the products do. Is this diference permitable?
for example, product URL http://www.example.com?item=xxxxxx bit image URL http://cdn.revolution.com?store=example&item=xxxxxx
actual domain www.example.com
product domain www.example.com
image URL cdn.revolution.com

Generally images can be hosted on an external host without causing issue. The only domain that must match at all times is that of your registered, verified and claimed URL and the URL found within the link attribute.
However, you must have permission to use any image or own the rights to use said images. These cannot be taken from another site/store. Although you can host these of a third party website.
You must also ensure these images abide by all guidelines and regulations set by Google
You must ensure that these images are available and are not blocked by Google at any time.
