Hello

I was wondering if I can use the image_url below

https://www.havaianasaustralia.com.au/getmedia/171d347a-9f85-4f78-bd64-1d6ff58e7247/Barney-Bamm-Blue...

Is it required to have an image extension at the end of the url (http://media.cloudfront.com/thong.jpg

Thanks in advance

Adel

(1) yes;
(2) no;

yes, an image without a proper file extension can
certainly be used -- although not recommended.

there is no requirement that the file name extension match the
content of the image_link value -- although it is a best-practice.

however, a request for the file must return proper http headers,
at all times, the content itself and related headers must be in
a supported format, clearly showing (only) the product, and
google must be able to crawl all items and images while the

hosting site must respond properly, at all times.

generally, the image cannot be too large such that the server cannot keep
pace with all google's crawl requests and cannot be too small with respect
to google's policies -- an image size of approximately 400x400 pixels or so
is usually best.

if google is not able to display the image within the products-tab 72-hours
or so after the submitted data has been fully processed, consider checking
the server for googlebot-image requests, proper headers, or adjusting the
product image or image file size.
