how do I remove my email from Merchant Center account

hi,

My client sent me a link to authenticate me as a user on his Merchant Center account.  I am already on his Google Search Console and Google Analytics.

I clicked on the link sent to me.  And I was taken to 'please provide URL' etcetc... without thinking I added!  Stupid boy!!

As for some reason rather than be added to my clients Merchant Centre account I had started the process of creating a new one!! I have not verified this as I don't want to [censored] things up further.

Not sure why Google would get their 'Authentification links' wrong in the first place!

Anyway, I need to work out how to delete this Merchant Centre account or disassociate it with my email.  So my client can re-send user authority and I can try and authenticate again.

Of course if one email address can have access to several Google Merchant centres on one email.  IN which case i will get the client to re-send the authentication.

Many thanks in advance

currently, a single google-account (email) may be associated with multiple
merchant-center-accounts -- the feature was added somewhat recently.

(a) simply check under the newly created merchant-center-account, under

the main left-hand-side-menu, for the client's business-display-name --

if the client exists, there is nothing else to do.

(b) otherwise, have the client edit and re-save the agency's email as a user --
if that does not re-trigger the invite, simply have the client remove and
then re-add the agency's email.

(c) after the agency's email has been (re)added by the client, the client will
simply be another, selectable, merchant-center-account, within the agency's
existing/new merchant-center-account, under the main left-hand-side-menu --
simply click on the client's business-display-name:
https://merchants.google.com/mc/merchantdashboard

a merchant-center-account can never be deleted --
a merchant-center-account may simply be put in
a quiescence-state by removing the website-claim
and deleting all registered feeds; if neither exist,

simply treat the new merchant-center-account as

a gateway to multiple, existing, client-accounts.

(d) of course, the used email may be freed, by performing a user-swap,

with two (agency) emails -- but that action is no longer required,

given google's new feature of allowing one email to be added as

a user, to multiple merchant-center-accounts.

(e) as pure aside, if the only task is to maintain the client's feed/submits,
there is no need for any merchant-center-account access, whatsoever --
simply have the client email the data-feed's scheduled-fetch or ftp url
details and maintain the feed-file remotely.

Sorry for the delay.

"

Not sure I understand? There is nothing else to do what?

Do you mean I just ask the client to resend the 'Google Merchant Account' invite again? And I should be able to accept and login to the correct Google Merchat Account?

Hi,

I got my client to delete the previous invite, as this was stopping him from sending a new one.  So he deleted and sent a new one.

I clicked on link in email and ended up here: https://screencast.com/t/l4DjsWyy

Not sure what that means... I then opened up a new browser and when into Google Merchant Centre and saw this: https://screencast.com/t/pfuQYbUyycSb which is not the correct merchant Centre.

the verified emails are likely email-contacts --
and have nothing whatever to do with access.

above the additional-email-contacts are merchant-center-users;
the client should simply add the agency's email as a user --
there should be no need for any additional verification when
adding or changing a role/user for user-access to the account.

for merchant-center-user-access there should be

no such need for any disassociation or verification.

a best-practice is for an agency to have a merchant-center-account --

as a gateway to client-accounts and possibly a future transition to a

multi-client-account, as the agency grows; disassociation was needed

for ad-accounts and the merchant-center, in the past, before google

began to allow a single google-account (email) to be added, as a user,

to access multiples of such accounts.

there-is-nothing-else-to-do, meaning, if the client's business-display-name
currently exists, under the main left-hand-side-menu, within the agency's
merchant-center-account, then there is no need for any resend or re-invite,
by the client.

that is, login to the agency's google-account, navigate to the

agency's merchant-center-account, and then simply click on the

client's business-display-name, under the left-hand-side menu --
the merchant-center-account will effectively become the client's
account and will have access to the client's merchant-center.

if done correctly, the client's merchant-center-id
number will be seen in the merchant-center url's,
as a url-parameter -- rather than the agency's id;
e.g.
https://merchants.google.com/mc/mcadiagnostics?a=client-merchant-id

under the main left-hand-side-menu, there should be an up-down-arrow,
aside the merchant-center-id -- clicking on the (rotating) arrows will
expose/hide/toggle a list of (client) business-display-names/user-invites.

if, and only if, there are no users listed,
after clicking on the rotating-arrows, in

the agency's merchant-center-account,
then simply have the client follow the

steps under (b) in the last post.

Hi

There is no invited where you say there is

There is no option to select another 'Merchant Centre' account

There is nothing in this account accept my clients URL and Googles insistence that I verify

I don't want to verify I just want to get access to my clients merchant centre account!!

There is obviously something wrong with Googles email verification log in system!!

So if someone could tell me how I disassociate my email address with this account which is not needed not wanted and causing all manner of issues

the agency should login to their google-account, first --
then, navigate to the agency's merchant-center-account:

https://merchants.google.com/mc/merchantdashboard
if the client has properly set user-access, clicking on
the up-down-arrows should expose the client's account,

and agency's account, as separate users (display-names).

clicking on the user's display-name will change the account-id's and access.

if the *agency's* merchant-center-account is in the middle of completion, but
not been completed, and google is insisting on a website url, simply use the
agency's website url in the agency's merchant-center-account -- and ignore

any url-claim or url-verification messages; then complete the new-account.

before taking any actions --

be certain which google-account is currently logged-in

and which merchant-center-user is current, by --
(a) carefully inspecting the google-account by hovering
over the user-icon, in the far-upper-right-hand-corner;
and (b) carefully inspecting the merchant-center-account-id in the url;
e.g.
https://merchants.google.com/mc/merchantdashboard?a=agency-merchant-id
https://merchants.google.com/mc/merchantdashboard?a=client-merchant-id

clicking on the user's display-name will change the account-id's and access.

there should be no need for any such additional invitation

or verification, if the client is simply adding the agency's

email for user-access; invitations are normally required

only for an additional-email-contact -- which is entirely

separate from user-access.

the attached screen-captures in the previous posts should help somewhat.

otherwise, the best likely course is to contact google --
this is mainly a peer-to-peer forum and forum-members
cannot look into any accounts.

google will likely need to know at least the following:
the agency's ad-account customer-id;
the agency's google-account (email);
the agency's merchant-center-account-id;
the client's google-account (email);
the client's merchant-center-account-id.

I can see the possible issue now, the client has set me up as only a 'contact email address'

NOT as a user, see here: https://screencast.com/t/uzouZuj3

So I think this is the issue?

the client has set me up as only a 'contact email address'

yes, that would explain the issue

and any such need for verification.

as was indicated, email-contacts are

entirely separate from user-access --

despite being together on the same page.

of course, having a client also add the agency-email

as a contact, is likely a good-thing, with respect to

receiving notifications -- but that has nothing whatever

to do with user-access.
