Hello,

Do not know if this category is right for my question.

The problem is that I find the way to add the attribute 'availability date' when a product was preorder.

Please, I could make an example of microdate?

Thank you

the availability_date attribute is optional --
there is no microdata (example) provided.

the format for a feed is here --
https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/188494?#availability_date

the corresponding micodata and schema.org example is currently:
http://schema.org/releaseDate

It is that the attribute is optional. I have read everything carefully, but I find a simple example to include that attribute in microdata format. By the way, the last link that tells me about ReleaseDate, shows no instance, so it does not add anything new to me.

Thanks anyway for your answer and greetings

both the availability_date attribute and
the releaseDate micodata are optional --
and may or may not be used by google.

however, if either the attribute or the microdata is used by a merchant then,
all data submitted and any microdata on the website must be accurate, valid,
and must not interfere with any of google's automatic-item-update crawls --
assuming the automatic-item-updates feature is enabled within the account.

as was indicated, there are no item instance-examples for
the release-date microdata -- other than the vocabulary
examples on the schema.org site.

otherwise, the best likely course would simply be to contact
a merchant-center product-listing-ads support specialist.

availability date is NOT optional when using preorder - you have to use availabiliuty date

(yes this is a very old question i am answering but it is indexed in search and i just got here, tried it,= and then had to look in the help as the answers here are not quite specific enough)

"If you set the availability attribute to preorder, you can provide the date your product will be shipped using availability_date."

https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/6324470

note "can" -- there are preorder items that

simply do not have an official release date

from the manufacturer.

otherwise, yes a preorder value implies an availability_date will be

submitted, on which dates the item will be available and shipped.
