Why Do My Products Get Grouped With Other Shops?

Once clicked through to the Google Shopping results, some of my products get grouped with other products.

 

For example it will say "From 2 Shops" rather than my Company Name.

 

Is this something to do with sharing a GTIN number? Some of the products I get grouped with are totally different pack size / price.

The "compare" area is a number of factors, GTIN, and Brand contribute, however Google has never mentioned the exact requirements, but advise you do present these attributes for consideration. At times other users do supply incorrect values and this can result in what you are seeing. So long as your item is supplying the correct, then you shouldn't have a problem. 

 

Users that click upon the item, so long as your item corresponds with the product shown, then you are actually in essence in a better position as you are offering what the potential customer is searching for.

Sometimes it is a benefit to be grouped, sometimes it is not. I prefer not to be grouped as being grouped the most likely clicked shop will be the cheapest or the well known merchant.

As Tom said its a combination of GTIN and Brand, parts of title possible MPN.

You could do an experiment where you alter the title, but you have to obviously be clear what you are selling and what it is. As long as you stay within the Policy, experiments are not a negative thing.

gloabal-trade-data (mpn, brand, gtin) cannot be altered or
self-assigned by merchants; global-trade-data can only be
assigned by manufacturers and submitted by merchants --

typically via the bar-code and brand stamped at the factory.

as was indicated, the search-term, global-trade-data, all attributes
submitted, and many other factors, may determine if an item will
be grouped or not, during a specific auction (search) -- google has
so far never divulged such details despite being asked many times.

currently, for product-listing-ads, google decides all format
and display and is constantly experimenting with groupings,
formatting, and display details.

if a merchant is improperly submitting accurate global-trade-data --
e.g. a different package-size than what the manufacturer assigned --
the potential policy violation may be reported directly to google.
