Hi there,

I have removed a keyword [outdoor furniture] in Google shopping yesterday,

but today I could not find any our outdoor furniture products when I searched this keyword [outdoor furniture],

could anyone tell me why and how long will the products to be found when search this keyword?

Thanks.

Regards,

Jin

Hi Jin,

Presumably you added the negative keyword some time ago. It is possible that your bids are no longer high enough for your ads to show for that search term.

There can be delays when updating the Merchant Centre, but changes in AdWords should take effect straight away.

Hi RobSkelton,

But the strange thing is that when I search [outdoor furniture sale], our products are at the first page, i think the bids is quite high enough to show there in [outdoor furniture], so I was still confused.

Bids being sufficient for one search query doesn't mean they are sufficient for others. Raise your bids for a few hours to test.

but none of the showing up when I search [outdoor furniture], but like [outdoor furniture sale], [outdoor furniture online] these queries, our item are at the top of the first page..

As you will know, there aren't a lot of things you can do to optimise Shopping campaigns. You can't control if Google will show your products for a certain keyword, especially generic keywords.

I don't have any other suggestions, other than adding that phrase to titles/descriptions of your products.

Perhaps it will come right and there is a delay when you remove a negative keyword. If so, it would be unique to Shopping campaigns.

(check that the negative keyword doesn't also exist in a negative keyword list...)

a few minor points of clarification --

first, inspect the impression statistics for the items that may be
surfacing for specific search-terms, and check the search-terms
report under the dimensions-tab to verify what is triggering the

ads -- using direct searches may remove items from the auctions.

if the items were ever seen as shopping-ads on google-search,

then the ad-preview-and-diagnostics-tool may sometimes help.

if the items that were assumed to be blocked by the negative-words

are gaining impressions, or those search-terms now exist within the

dimensions-tab, then others are seeing those items as shopping-ads --

regardless of what any personalized, live, search may seem to indicate.

second, using exact-terms as negative-words in a shopping-campaign
work as expected -- that is, those exact negative-words will block
related items from showing; however, if those terms are removed

as negative-words, then those same, exact, search-terms, will not

necessarily trigger any shopping-ads -- especially in this case,
since sale and online are words that are generally not allowed

in titles or descriptions and will typically be ignored over time.

titles, descriptions, and all submitted product (feed) data, are generally
limited to only terms that name a physical item or a describe the physical
characteristics of the exact, specific, item being sold and shipped.

sale, or similar terms, are only allowed in a promotion or promotions-feed;

online is only valid within a channel to differentiate local-inventory-ads.

as an aside, exact negative-words are denoted by brackets [outdoor furniture];
the same search-terms in queries are denoted by quotes "outdoor furniture" --
those exact terms must be within either a submitted title or description and
the terms must describe the product and must be relevant with respect to the
exact physical item being sold -- or is otherwise a policy-violation and
grounds for the items to be removed from the auctions, at any time.

posting the exact link landing-page url, and the exact data being
submitted, for the specific item-offer, may allow forum-members
to offer more specific suggestions.

otherwise, the best likely course would be to contact google --
so that a person can inspect the submitted data, any remaining
negative-words, and the exact bid details for the product-group,
under which the item resides; when contacting google, indicating
that the issue relates to shopping-ads sometimes helps.
