What is the proper format needed for US for Tax and Shipping?

I check the format stated here: https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/160162?hl=en
but I hesitate to put it as it is not clearly stated.

But currently, here is the format I'm using:

tax                    shipping

US::0:n              US:Smiley Frustratedtandard:30 USD

Am I correct?

Hi Mark

If you are not charging Tax, then you can select from your Tax settings within your Google Merchant Center Account

"Don't charge taxes in the United States"

As for Shipping

Again, you can choose to set this within your Google Merchant Center account, if this is a standard charge feed wide, however, if this varies from item to item, your formatting would be as follows

Country: State/Region: Service: Price

So if you charge Shipping rate of $30 throughout the United States

You would format

US::Ground:30 USD

If you charge a different rate for California, for example

US:CA:Ground:30 USD

Either way, you must include the formatting for all four values, separated by a colon :

You do not need to place a value between colons, however, you must include the colons regardless.

I need to apply this question to a campaign for my site, which as an ETSY - like marketplace. I am putting in a shopping campaign where different products have different tax and shipping parameters, which I want to put in at a product level in the spreadsheet.
On tax I have only two variations - no tax in US or tax only in one state. If I understand what I see here correctly, my two options would be
on tax:
US::0:n
or
US:CA:6.7

On shipping, each product will have different multiple options. I am hoping that in the spreadsheet I can put, for example, on one product:
US::Ground:30 USD
US::Fedex 2 Day:40 USD
US::Fedex Overnight:50 USD

Is that correct? Thanks!

Hi Bob,

For marketplace sellers please ensure you read all policies relating to
this - https://support.google.com/merchants/answer/2796531

If you are wishing to include these within your feed and not within your
Google Merchant Center settings, then you can either, set a flat rate of
"Don't Charge taxes in United States" and include an override of the tax
percentage within your feed by including the Tax attribute for those items
which charge tax on an individual state.

By not including a value within your "tax" attribute your Google Merchant
Center settings would be used.

Alternatively, if you are only charging tax to one state feed-wide, you can
set this within your Google Merchant Center settings as an individual state
by selecting

"Specify taxes for individual states"

This would then have every state outwith that of the one specified within
your account settings set to 0.

You haven't specified if you are setting different individual states per
item, so this would only work on the above scenario.

If you are setting varied states, per item, then you would need to include
each state per item with a default of "Don't Charge taxes in United States"
or US::0:n

To set shopping per states in your feed, you would include the value

US:CA:7:n (if you do not charge tax on shipping)
US:CA:7:y (if you do charge tax on shipping)

Shipping

Again, depending on if each item will have different shipping rates or you
simply offer a range of shipping for all items, then you can either supply
the cheapest/slowest rate you offer or you can create a shipping rate table
within your Google Merchant Center account settings.

If you wish to include these values within your feed, then you can include
the shipping attribute up to 100 times within each item.

US:CA:Ground:5.00USD,US:NJ:Express:12.00USD,US: CO:Ground:0.00USD etc..
each value should be seperated with a comma.

There are also shipping attributes which may be applicable to you so please
see here and read each in turn to see if they apply to your set-up.

If you have any further questions or I have misunderstood your set-up,
please let me know and I will try to assist you further.

<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

That is great info! My only question is - what do I put into the spreadsheet for a product where the vendor is charging a shipping rate that is for the entire US and not state by state. If the charge is $25. per item for Fedex shipping to any state in the US do I put:

US:Fedex:25.00USD

or

US:all:Express:25.00USD

Thanks!

Bob

(1) an empty region signifies the entire country; e.g.
US::Flat Rate:25.00 USD
a space should precede the three-letter iso-currency -- USD

(2) all etsy items must be submitted by etsy;
individual marketplace sellers cannot submit marketplace items.

I just emailed this but to make sure we close it out I'll post here:
You've just about got me there but one last question remains. I have one merchant who offers free shipping on orders of $250. or more. How to I specify that in the spreadsheet, or can I?
Thanks!

first, you're welcome.

currently, there is no concept of orders for product-listings-ads --
there is only the one, single, item-offer submitted (in the feed).

for that use-case, if any inventory item has a price over 250 and
that specific item is submitted within the (spreadsheet) feed then,
a per-item override may be submitted with a free shipping entry; e.g.
US::Flat Rate:0.00 USD

alternatively, a rate-table based on price might be configured in the account.

also, be certain not to mention any shipping information anyplace else in
the submitted data (feed), such as the title or description -- that is a policy
violation and grounds for a disapproval or suspension, at any time.

that said, there are promotional-messages for the ad-group and the

merchant-promotions-program -- where such shipping-on-orders,

free shipping, and related details can be mentioned or emphasized.
