I am trying to find out what determines which product will show from your product date feed merchant items.

for example, I have numerious products that wil show if someone searches the keyword "fiberglass casting tape"

Google chooses which photo to show

That that  may not be the best representation of what should show.

Is there a way to get Google to show a better choice from your list of products?

auction results are determined by the bid and quality factors.

google has rules and recommendations
with respect to all submitted data --
google determines all format and display.

if results are grouped, such as under compare-prices,
google automatically selects a representative photo,
title, description, price, and potentially other details --
currently, there is no way for merchants to force the
selection of such displayed information.

depending on the details -- including the exact search-term,
user history, the left-hand-side options selected, and many
other factors, such as the quality of all submitted data --
the specific price, image_link, and snippets from the title and
description that were submitted, may be selected for display.

generally, be certain to submit plain (ascii) text without any formatting
whatsoever (such as css, html, special symbols, javascript, etc), for all
the submitted data with high-quality images, about 300x300 pixels, that

conform to all google's rules, policies, guidelines, and recommendations.

feedback may be given directly to google by selecting the
send-feedback link near the bottom of most search-results.
