Uploading new shopping feed

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hi All-

I have uploaded a new feed after my old one expired. Once uploaded, it still lists many products as expiring or disapproved. It doesn't seem like any are live yet. We uploaded the feed directly through Volusion's API. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Allie

first, be certain that there is only one, single, primary

feed, currently registered, for the target-country --

https://merchants.google.com/mc/products/sources

be certain that the one registered data-feed is used for any and all

updates -- including  changes, deletions, additions, or re-uploads.

the one feed should be registered only once -- for all time.

never, ever, delete the one registered feed --
unless a person at google indicates to do so.

if the items submitted within the feed expire, the feed should simply be
re-uploaded -- normally, a new feed should never, ever, be registered.

also, be certain that inventory items in the feed have not changed id values --
an id value must be unique per physical inventory item submitted, and the id
should never, ever, change after being assigned to a physical inventory item.

google assigns status based on id.

any changed/new data-feed registration, or any
changed/new id for a previously-submitted item,
will confuse google's processing.

if any id value has changed, for any inventory item,
google will not be able to properly update the item,
and properly assign an updated status.

otherwise, google may simply take 72-hours or so, to crawl the website
and all images, to inspect for policy related issues, on the website or in

the submitted data, before assigning a final status to all items.

otherwise, the best likely course would
be to contact volusion support directly.

Uploading new shopping feed

Thanks! I found there was actually an old expiration date exporting within the xml each time. I've had to manually update it. Now I'm getting the message:

keyboard_arrow_down1 ERROR: Bad XML tag..
Your data feed contains a bad XML tag.
Line Nr. Column Nr.
4 5

Anyone know what change needs to be made?

first, you're welcome.

(a) as to expiration_date --

the expiration_date attribute is not needed, at all, unless an item
must be removed from the listings before the 30-day default --
for example, if an item is anticipated to be out of stock or

removed from the website, on or before a specific date.

otherwise, expiration_date may be removed, altogether, and
the item will expire naturally, by google, every 30-days --

google does not require the expiration_date attribute

to be submitted in the feed.

otherwise, yes -- if expiration_date is submitted,

then expiration_date must always be updated

with a new date if the date is in the past.

expiration_date cannot be used to extend google's
30-day expiration -- only shorten the expiration.

the data (feed) must be re-submitted every 30-days --
usually 5-days before the default 30-day expiration --
or immediately after any critical change to the website,
or to physical, in stock, inventory availability, occur.

(b) as to the xml message --

this is mainly a peer-to-peer community forum --
forum-members cannot look into any account

or any submitted data.

try downloading the xml file, by using the download-file link,
under the three-dot-icon, after clicking on the file's name,
under the products-feeds-tab -- then, carefully inspect the
download file's contents, within an editor or browser-window.

generally, keyboard_arrow_down is not a valid xml tag --
if the tag exists, any such tag should be removed from
the data-feed (xml file) altogether.

otherwise, try posting, here in public, a public url link,
to the specific xml-file, so that other forum-members

may inspect the file, and offer more specific suggestions.

otherwise, volusion-support should likely be contacted directly for guidance --
