UPC Linking and Image Quality Concern Due to The UPC Linking
Google is linking some of my products to existing products in the Google Shopping system due to them being the identical product and having identical UPC's. However the image used by a competitor is horrible. My images are far superior and haven been taken by a product photographer. I think it would result in better conversions if my product image was used instead of the existing product image being used currently. Is there a way to prompt Google about this issue or am I stuck with having my listing using the existing low quality image and having my brand associated with this low quality product image in the Google Shopping system?

generally, the images selected for grouped products
are automatic and algorithmic so, there is no direct
way to prompt a change in the image selection.
the best likely course would be to contact google
directly and ask for a product-listing-ads specialist --
and fill out the feedback form that is near the bottom
of most results pages.
that said, the more relevant an item is found to be with
respect to search-terms the less likely the item will be
grouped together -- despite the upc codes matching;
therefore, be certain that the non-manufacturer data,
such as title and description, are accurate and relevant
with respect to the physical item or how the physical
item might be used, while reflecting the dimension
information collected over time within adwords.
