Taking Ownership of Product data On Shopping Network

Hello!

In the last few months, we purchased a company that is the manufacturer of childrens' toys and also used to run ads on Google Shopping. The previous owners of the company hadn't fed data to Google Shopping in some time (years). Since then, eBay merchants and (what I can only assume are) "scraper" merchants have listed our products, as well, creating comparison groups. (These scraper merchants have pulled some of our Amazon Prime products onto their sites. Some look legit. Others, not so much).

Within the comparison groups, some of the data is incorrect: missing Brand, wrong part #s, wrong titles, out of date pictures, and wrong descriptions. In some cases, even the GTIN (the UPC) is incorrect. I've uploaded my feed of products with the correct data a few times over the last 6 weeks, but none of the Google Shopping listings have been updated. I've assessed what each product is grouped under, and I'd like to get some of this data cleaned up to create consistency with my brand and website.

I've searched around, and I've come up with nothing on this topic (which I was surprised at). What can I do to get this data sanitized and at least fix the typos and out-of-date pictures?

Thank you for any advice you might have.

for the information that is automatically selected by google on
grouped, comparison, pages, there should be a send-feedback
link near the bottom of each page.

potential policy violations by others may also be reported --
https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/policy

otherwise, a support specialist may be contacted directly.

The data that you submit will only effect your listings, listings of competitors that list your products will not be effected.

Google Shopping can have 100 merchants that have identical products, but complete different titles, descriptions and price.

If you feel the competitor is in violation, as Celebird suggest simply submit a violation report. And Google will look at it at take appropriate action if deem fit.

Thank you for your reply. My concern is that my company owns and manufactures these products. We're the only ones that truly sell them. There are others that "re-sell" them (whether that's valid is another matter). This, obviously, creates comparison groups wherein there's the title, description, images, etc.

My major concern is that the images and descriptions are out of date (in some cases vastly). We own the UPCs, and we want the product images to reflect the most up-to-date features of the products as possible, as there have been some product iterations. How can I combat that scenario when the information I submit isn't used directly in the comparison group?

Simply put you can't, the only data you can change is your own.
If you are grouped and the text is not yours, than there is nothing you can do.

If the data however is incorrect and does not reflect the product I suggest you contact Google Adwords Team.

So how is the data even chosen to display? Is it just based on the first person who uploads the product?

How are my products put into the group with some of these competitors? Some of my products' comparison groups, I understand (same GTIN, same part #). For others, I'm grouped with them and the GTIN is wrong, the part number is useless, and the description is essentially gibberish. There is no noticeable consistency when it comes to how the comparison groups are generated,

Each merchant has there own data, the information that you see is ether from a combined grouping or from the individual merchant.

I suggest you contact Google Adwords for a more in depth explanation. They provide this to you as a free service.
