currently, there is no such specific taxonomy for the

google_product_category attribute -- depending on

the device, either continue with:
Apparel & Accessories > Jewelry > Watches
201
or use:
Health & Beauty > Health Care > Biometric Monitors > Activity Monitors
500009

note that google has strict rules for apparel-accessories --

for example, google_product_category, age_group, color,
gender, and item_group_id, are all generally required.

otherwise, google_product_category is not required for most products --
alternatively, or additionally, submit product_type with a more appropriate

taxonomy, using standard > breadcrumbs, that is relevant with respect to

the exact physical product being sold and shipped.
e.g.
Cell Phone Accessories > Electronics > Wearable Technology > Smart Watches

Thank you.
I hope that Google will create this google_product_category soon, especially that more and more wearable technology is coming to the market.
I'm also wondering (but I guess there is no correct answer): Is a smartwatch a phone accessory (many works now without a phone) or a Biometric monitor (which they do, but it might not be their primary use). It's a rhetorical question, no need to answer :-)
Thank you.

A smartwatch would be considered under the watch category. Any extra features the smartwatch might have would still be a watch. An item worn on the wrist.

If the device only does health monitoring and it's main function has nothing to do with a conventional watch, than yes it would be.

As for smartphone accessories, it could be considered one. But the main function of the device would still be a watch.

Hope it helps.
