Shopping ads keywords?

I keep reading and hearing that shopping ads don't use keywords and its the Title and Description in the feed which is used by google to determine keyword relevance.   If this is the case, why is there a "Keywords" tab under "Shopping Campaigns" with the sub tabs of "Negative Keyword" and "Search Terms".

"Negative Keywords" makes sense, but "Search Terms" seems like "Keywords" to me.    How are "Search Terms" used?

The keywords tab > search terms, is for you to see which search terms are triggered.

The keywords tab > search terms, if for you to exclude search terms you do not want the ad to trigger.

Search terms and keywords are not the same. Search term is the term the user has entered to find your ad (it's a report for you to analyze), keywords is an advertiser defined word that can trigger for ads.

Hope this helps.
