Is it possible to create a rule that automatically adjusts your bid based on the benchmark CPC like for search you can adjust daily to reach the 1st page.

Hi Reed,

Yes there are automatic bidding options to increase your keywords bids when it below first page bid.

Go to keywords tab >> clicks on automate Tab >> click on Increase keyword bids to first page CPC option.

Here you can create rule as per your requirements.

Go through with the below screen shots and link for more details.

Hope this helps to you.

Automated rules can only work on ad groups. You can not bid down to individual item id's Unless you are willing to create an ad group per item id.

Currently Google Adwords does not support bid adjustment on CTR further than the ad group it self.

So if you have 10 products in an ad group and your overall benchmark CPC is $1 and you have a rule that says match benchmark CPC. Than all 10 products will change.

You will need to look at scripting to adjust on a product level.
