Replacing Google Shopping Data Feed (google sheets)

Hi,

We have a lot of google shopping campaigns that have been running for some time and have accumulated a lot of metrics over the past few months. However the owner of the google data sheet in Google Merchant center is a former employee and we need to create a new google sheet with the same data and revoke his access to our merchant center.

1. When we create a new feed, it will be identical to the existing feed, but what is the process for adding this feed and removing the existing one?

2. Is it possible to transition to an entirely new google sheet without losing all those metrics and data if the product codes and everything are identical?

3. Will we need to break out our shopping campaigns and adgroups again?

Any insight and thoughts into successfully transitioning to a new google sheet is greatly appreciated.

You will need to delete the existing data feed and create a new one in Google Merchant. There is currently no method to choose a different spreadsheet within an existing data feed setup.

So, delete the feed, create a new one and connect your new spreadsheet to the feed. Make sure you are 100% ready with the new feed before moving over.

You will get an error of duplicate id's, as long as you only have 1 data feed with the correct products you don't need to worry and the warning will disappear.

There is no need to change anything in Adwords, all adwords settings stay the same and you can pick up where you left.

hope it helps.

Hi @EmS,

You can create a new feed without necessarily deleting the old feed--just disable it for shopping. You can also submit a test feed before submitting a real live feed. That way, any errors that come up can be corrected.

I hope that helps!
