Product remarketing - Different domains - Identical products

Hello adwords community,

I have different domains offering the exact same products. But we would like to serve the people who've viewed products on any of the websites from one adwords / merchant account. My question is whether it is possible to serve product remarketing ads to productviewers from any of the domains which have the adwords remarketing tag implemented.

The product id's are identical accross all websites.

Example:

Fridges.co.uk

product-id: Fridge-12345

Fridges.com

product-id: Fridge-12345

Would this be possible?

Hello,

Most probably the answer should be yes. Here's the answer from Googler Rashmi in this particular thread and I would encourage you to read that in detail:

I hope this helps!

Hey Pankaj,

I did find that topic! But it's not specific to dynamic product remarketing. Normal remarketing is not linked to a merchant center. Maybe the link to the merchant center is arbitrary and it will manage to pull product ads based purely on the product id but maybe not.... It's a different form of remarketing. I hope it works like i mentioned, but i came here hoping to get a more definitive answer though Smiley Happy

Thanks for your suggestion none the less!

first, you're welcome.

normally, the product id in the dynamic remarketing (tag) for retail should
exactly match the id for the product within the submitted data (feed) so
the exact product a user viewed (via a product-listing-ad) is remarketed.

id for a physical item must be unique across
all feeds and all target-countries; e.g.
uk-fridge-12345
us-fridge-12345

importantly, the same physical product cannot be submitted twice within
the same target-country; that is a policy violation and grounds for the
item to be removed, disapproval, or account suspension, at any time.

as a pure aside, dynamic-remarketing is now available for many other verticals
other than retail -- any feed data is simply handled directly within adwords
rather than the merchant-center.

Hey Celebird,

Thank you for your answer. Unfortunately you misunderstood my question. The products are literally the same, the only thing different is the domain. The product id's for both products would be uk-fridge-12345 as you put it.

We have two websites. But we only want to advertise for one domain but we want to target the audience of both domains. And the products are an exact match.

Case:
Let's say I implement the same adwords dynamic remarketing code on the .co.uk and .com domain.

Now someone visits the .co.uk domain and merely views a product, uk-fridge-12345. I want to retarget this product viewer through an advertisement landing the person on the uk-fridge-12345 .com domain through the .com merchant center (which has uk-fridge-12345 in its feed). Is this possible?

generally, dynamic-remarketing is in the context of remarketing items
within the (feed) data of a merchant-center-account with respect to
users who have previously visited a (product-listing-ad) product page --
the domain is registered in the merchant-center and submitted within
the feed data for that account.

why are two sites being used other than for targeting (different) countries?

Hey Celebird,

I'm not sure if i understand you right.  English is not my first language unfortunately.

I'm slightly confused whether you're just explaining what the idea of product remarketing is, or whether you are answering my question. Which would be an irregular application if it is possible, so a general explanation is not an answer to my case i'm afraid. I made an image to graphically show what i would like to achieve.

If i did simply not understand you correctly, can you please try and paraphrase what you're saying?

Hey Jelle,

Did this get resolved for you ? OR, if you ran any experiments regarding this, can you tell the results ? I am facing the exact same issue and want to get as much info as possible with the last resort being, running test campaign myself.
