Product feed, Google bot change

Good day,

 

Up until December, Google requested our product feed every Sunday at 4AM. The user agent was "Googlebot". We received a weekly email notification with a positive result.

 

Starting December 1st, Google requested our product feed multiple times per day, usually all at once around midnight. The user agent changed to "google-xrawler". We are getting 2 negative email notifications per day. However, we are still getting a positive result per week.

 

The products are still listed, but I am concerned about problems under the surface. I suspect a change on Google's end, because I did not log any changes on December 1st.

 

Does this ring any bells? Who should I contact about it?

Hi Ben,

 

Welcome to AdWords Community.

 

Not sure if there's a change, but when I had this on one of the accounts I manage, I traced the IP for this User-Agent. I tried two different websites to trace the IP and found organization name as Google Translate. 

 

Though, let's wait if some body has more accurate information about this...
