Hi

Can I set a bid on individual product in a PLA campaign?

If so how would I go about doing this?

generally, having a bidding strategy based on product-groups is recommended --
for example, bidding higher on pants and lower on gloves, bidding higher or
lower on certain brands, or adjusting bids based on abstract groups such as

sale or seasonable products.

product-groups are created based on attributes in the submitted data (feed) --
such as product_type, brand, custom_label_0, or google_product_category.

to bid on an individual item simply use the id attribute.

Hi Celebird

Okay so I have been doing this correctly.
I just to make sure. Can I assign a custom name to the product group or do I have to use the product ID #.

Thank you for the help.

first, you're welcome.

assuming the item is an existing group, simply click on
the group the item is under and sub-divide by its id --
the name of that "group" will be the id value.

the names cannot be changed and are based on submitted attribute values.

that is one reason why a best-practice is to use a mix of letters and numbers
for id, such as abc123uk; or, something a bit more mnemonic: redsock42uk

alternatively, use a custom-label to assign the bid --
e.g. custom_label_0 set to red-sock42-sale in the feed;
although, custom-labels are limited in number and are
more for abstract groups of items; e.g. fall-socks-sale.

Hi Celebird

How do you set the custom label and add certain products to it?

setting the custom label and adding certain products

to it, are done using the submitted data (feed); then,

the bids are assigned in the shopping-campaign.

custom-label attributes (custom_label_0, etc.) are merely
attributes -- like title, description, price, product_type, etc.

simply add the attribute, like any other, and assign a value --
the details depend on how the current feed is maintained.

for example -- for a spreadsheet, simply add another column
named custom_label_0 and change the item's cell value under
that specific, new, column (attribute).

for example, a subset of socks (or the sock) designated for a fall-sale

would be assigned a value of fall-sock-sale under the custom_label_0

and all other values, for all other items, would be empty, in the data feed.

then, resubmit the data (feed) and wait until the
details are migrated into the linked account --
typically, 24-72 hours or so.

then, when clicking on the appropriate product-group, subdivide
the group by clicking on the + sign and select custom label 0 as
the subdivision on the pop-up.
