Product Category being rejected

I'm importing my products directly from my website and not able to use the categories that I want.  It seems as if google wants me to replace my specialized category names on website with generic bland descriptions.  I do not want to change my website but it seems its the only way to get google to accept the categories. They aren't so far out there, for example I'd like to say a category is Vintage Wire or 24k Gilt Wood.  Is there anyway  to manually change this without having to categorize everything on my website as just jewelry<rings?

Thanks,

Ann Marie

Categories are unique to Google's Taxonomy.

If you want to use your own categories these need to be product_type

You must use Google's taxonomy for Categories

Your website does not need to be changed, just your data feed your supplying.

Thanks. That said, is there a way to change just that part of the data feed once its been imported to the Google platform? I haven't found a way to copy the data over. My website host is useless in this area. Otherwise it looks like I may have to manually type in everything in a google doc.
