Prestashop Datafeed Import Issues

I am using the official Google Shopping module in the my Prestashop store and I'm having some issues I hope you guys can help me with.

I am getting a ton of errors for missing "brand" but all of my products in Prestashop have a brand associated with them. Then when I go to create a rule for this, and "Use values from an existing field", the drop down does not show "brand" or anything associated with brand (like manufacturer).

I would also like to know why whoever created this module didn't allow the merchant (myself) to include or not all the different product variations.

first, you're welcome.

a few alternatives are to possibly try posting in the prestashop-forums
for exactly how to properly handle global-trade-data (gtin, brand) within
a presta-shop and contacting google directly for the feed-rules issues.

I don't think there is anyone here that can help you. I think you need to seek support from Prestashop and/or the company that created this module.  Just because someone labeled it "official" does not mean that it was created by Google. To my knowledge, Google would not create an application that only applies to a specific technology vendor.

One thing I did want to mention and why I thought Google might have helped in developing the module was that it has a support page specifically for Prestashop and this module found here

Thanks for sharing that. That's the first time I've ever seen anything like that.  Looking on the PrestaShop end, it doesn't have anything that says it was developed by Google. However, it shows on the Magento one that it was definitely developed by Google Inc.  So it appears I'm completely wrong here.  It looks like this might have been developed by Google.  My apologies if so.  Anything I've come across like this in the past has always been developed by a 3rd party, which is what I based my answer on.

I'm still not sure this is the best place to get help on it... unless someone comes along that has experience with PrestaShop explicitly.

Have you tried the contact developer option on PrestaShop to see what happens?

I will also ping @Celebird.  They know a lot more about the ins and outs of shopping than I do.

google simply offers an integration-point for various third-parties.

generally, google does not write the modules/apps/plug-ins/extensions/add-ons
and any associated questions or issues usually must be handled directly by the

third-party developer or ecommerce-site support.

in this particular case, as described, the best likely course would be
to contact the ecommerce-site (prestashop) support directly to verify
that (a) all global-trade-data information (brand, gtin) for each item
is being entered properly and correctly within the e-commerce-site --
and (b) all information entered is being submitted properly for use
by the merchant-center and shopping-ads.

then, if the proper brand, gtin, identifier_exists, attributes still seem to be
submitted improperly, via prestashop, and a merchant-center-feed-rule is
absolutely necessarily, the best likely course would be to first consult with

prestashop-support, as to exactly which attributes/data is being submitted,

that may correspond to the proper merchant-center attributes, to determine

if a feed-rule is even possible.

otherwise, forum-members cannot look into any submitted data or accounts --
forum-members can mainly offer suggestions based on the information that
is posted here within the public forum; a support-specialist at google may be

contacted for account-specific guidance.

Thanks everyone. I've been with Prestashop for years now and their support is horrible. I'll just hire a developer to look at this for me. Just wanted to check with you guys first. Thanks again!
